Dear Mr. President,

You own the House. You own the Senate. You need a few Senators to quash a filibuster, but that's it. You are the President. Please, please stop asking for bipartisanship and push your agenda forward. It is why America elected you. This bipartisan rhetoric was ok to get elected, but it is harmful to the country. Bush tried this with the 'new tone' in Washington. If it hadn't been for 9-11 I'm not sure we would have survived it. The country needs difference of opinion. Think of it as a gamble. If your policies work, and you are not bipartisan in your pursuit of them you can point at the backwards Republicans and they will be finished as a party. On the other hand, if they don't work there will be someone left that the country believes in who can (possibly, assuming not too much damage is done) fix it. The only reason to be bipartisan is to hedge your bet. Bipartisanship, in this case, sends a message that says "I know this won't work. So, I don't want all the blame on myself." Take the blame, or the credit. Own it. Victory, and real change can be yours. You may have spent enough money to buy 51% of the votes. If you've done that, why share?
